Water levels are rising across Ward County and are expected to cover some roads and impede traffic for at least the next several days, according to the Ward County Sheriff's Office.
"Lots of melting snow," said Lt. Bob Roed of the sheriff's office, explaining the rising water. "We've got water all over the roads all over the county."
Roed specifically mentioned Ward County Road 19 South at 37th Avenue near Meadowbrook and U.S. Highway 52 South at 37th Avenue as being problematic by Saturday evening. He said that deputies are putting caution signs up at those and other locations.
"That's getting kind of deep there and moving pretty quick," he said of the water at the U.S. Highway 52 location.
