University of North Dakota senior forward Danny Kristo was one of 15 players chosen to represent the United States at the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship, USA Hockey announced Thursday.
Kristo is one of eight players from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association to be named to the U.S. team and the only skater from UND.
Suiting up for the U.S. team is nothing new for the 5-foot-11 forward. Kristo wore the red, white and blue uniform when he helped lead the U.S. to first-place finishes at the 2008 World Junior 'A' Challenge and the 2008 Under-18 Five Nations tournament.
In 2009 and 2010, Kristo appeared in the IIHF Under-20 Championship, winning a gold medal in 2010.
