Alice Huber, 88, of Harvey, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at her home on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m., in United Methodist Church, Harvey. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey.
Alice was born Oct. 11, 1924, at Anamoose, to Theodore and Alvina (Lang) Weltz. She grew up south of Anamoose and attended rural school.
Alice married Theodore T. Huber on April 2, 1944, in Martin. They farmed south of Martin. They moved into Martin in 1947. Alice was a homemaker, a cook at the Martin Public School and worked in the Martin Post Office. They moved to Harvey in 1981. Alice worked at the Harvey Senior Citizens Center as a cook for several years. Ted died April 16, 2010.
Alice had numerous hobbies including embroidering, hand quilting, baking and gardening. She also enjoyed maintaining family photo albums. She was a sports enthusiast and followed area high school and college teams.
Alice was a member of United Methodist Church in Martin and the Martin Homemakers Club.
Alice is survived by: her son, Clyde (Joann) Huber, of Berthold; daughter, Sharon (Sherwin) Dockter, of Dickinson; four grandchildren, Marsha Huber, Brian (Lyndsi) Huber, Shawn (Dawn) Dockter, Shaina (Nathan) Schaetzel; four great-grandchildren, Peyton Dockter, Preston Dockter, Allyson Huber and Tyler Huber; two brothers, Ervin (Cherraine) Weltz, of Harvey, Clarence (Rosalie) Weltz, of Minot; and sister, Irene Schmidt, of Bismarck.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother-in-law, Raymond Schmidt.
