SENDING SHOES More than 1,300 pairs of shoes and a host of other products will make their way to Texas this week. The items were collected and organized by workers at Minot's Hope Village. During an upcoming mission, a team from Our Savior Lutheran Church will conduct a free clinic to provide shoes to between 700 and 900 people in a Mexican community. The Rev.?Paul Krueger said helping others is "part of the DNA?of the members of Our Savior Lutheran Church," and the members keep proving Krueger right. Hope Village, a collection of volunteers from all across the country, is headquartered at the church in southwest Minot. Volunteers continue to arrive in Minot to help flood victims recover, helping repair homes to the point where they can be lived in again. The church's numerous mission trips to Mexico have provided hundreds of impoverished children with shoes, and volunteers will also build a structure to serve as a home for a local family. The Minot church continues its positive mission of helping others, whether they be in Minot or in Mexico, and for that everyone involved should be thanked.
