Edwin Ringdahl, 85, Minot, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, in his home.
Edwin Joseph Ringdahl was born June 11, 1927, a son of Emil and Emma (Johnson) Ringdahl, on the family farm near Noonan. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Noonan. Edwin graduated from Noonan High School in 1946. Following his graduation, Edwin took over the operations of the family farm at the age of 17.
In 1976, he was united in marriage to Tillie (Gieser) Fjeld. They lived on the Ringdahl farm, wintering in Texas until moving into Minot in 1994 to be closer to family and friends. Tillie died Dec. 5, 2006. He continued to live in Minot.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making the occasional trip to the casino. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Minot, and a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Noonan and the Lions Club of Noonan.
He is survived by: four stepchildren, Kathy (John) Bannister, Linda (Terry) Nygaard, Gloria Berg, and Julie Marquardt; sisters, Helga Stach, Paso Robles, Calif., Emily (Lyle) Olson, Peoria, Ariz.; eight stepgrandchildren, Susan, Alexis, Christopher, Adam, Tony, Jennifer, Anna and Aaron; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Garret, Clayton, Emelia, Benjamin; nephews, Wayne, Bruce, David; nieces Dawna, Brenda, Lisa; and several cousins.
Edwin was preceded in death by: his parents and his wife, Tillie.
Funeral service: Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, one hour prior to the service, at Thompson Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
