The memorial service was Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Crematory in Missoula, Mont., for Eleanor Langum Ulvestad, who passed away peacefully at the age of 99 of natural causes on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Country Home Estate Assisted Living in Missoula.
She was born May 18, 1913, in Barton, to John and Lillian Langum. She married Arthur M. Ulvestad on March 12, 1939, in Monterey, Calif. They lived in San Francisco, San Diego, Portland, Olympia, Wash., and Minot before moving to Missoula in 1961.
We fondly remember her greatest accomplishments as being the kindest mother, very patient, never complaining and always with a beautiful smile that brightened up a room. Until she retired in 1961 she worked as a stenographer for the State of Washington, the Division of the Blind, then worked part time in Minot as office manager for her husband's architectural firm and also at Fargo Glass and Paint in Minot.
She is survived by: her son, Robert Ulvestad, of Barney; her daughter, Kay Rood, of Daly City, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Stanley J. and (Miriam) Langum, of Scotts Valley, Calif.
