Sue, first,the city offered land and assistance to the Historical Society. Both were flatly turned down. Second, it is YOUR responsibility to research the costs whether you plan to move or not. But to say we can't afford to move, and then say we are raising money for the legal battle makes me think the Society is not being straightforward. Third, to refuse the offers to move OUT of the flood plain shows me that you are not interested in preserving the artifact, the historical articles, etc; but only to play the victim. It is not saying much for the members of the board. The big picture should be doing what is necessary to preserve our history.
