That's my point, Legend... This will undoubtedly make it's way to the ballot until it's passed. There's clearly a problem that will continue to get worse until we fix it. Pay NOW before you end up paying MORE later.

I can guarantee that my yes vote has nothing to do with "these greedy, entertainment city, fat cats" You're obviously frustrated with local government, but this bond is not about them. It's about our schools and the dire need for more space and improved facilities. I don't have a problem with your opinions, but I think it's important that people know the facts. If you haven't stepped foot in any of the schools, especially elementary, in the last year, you're not making an informed decision. The proof is in the pudding and it's a desperate situation.

Legend-- If voted down this will come back in a year or two and we'll end up paying more. The situation is so desperate that we need to do something now. Have you ever heard the phrase "pay now or pay later"?? I would rather pay now. Better yet, I would have preferred that we had done a better job investing in education and not be at this point. But, we need to start somewhere and this is definitely that time. You will cost yourself and everyone else more money by voting no.

Nancy not everybody received help who owned houses in Minot period and used it for their own habitat and were on fixed incomes. Now I agree with this letter as well we need to stop the smoke and mirrors and realize the burden families had to share and sacrifice with the divorces, fights and stress because of these entities not helping out our senior citizens. Shame on this city!

To me your effective voice should be directed at the entities that you are unhappy regarding the spending of money. I agree there with you especially "flood recovery" money. I cannot understand the thinking to take it out on the students. The city, state, and federal governments won't care if the bond issue fails. However, the students will.

Yes that is true. If it was a rental you received nothing.

I missed the first letter you're referring to but I do agree that no one recieved help that owned rental property. If they did, and recieved federal money they skirted the system and lied about this investment.
