Legend, Your last three posts are spot on. Closing 11th Ave. so it was safer for 'adults' to cross was insane and ludicrous. Curved ramp and steps up and over would have been a smarter, wiser decision for all involved for the long haul. But, I guess kids are smarter these days and have learned how to safely cross the street by the time they enter college.

nafh & dg: 1 consult for MSUPCP(MSU perpetual const. progect)siad close the road s. side of the dome. they closed it . 2nd consult says open the road. both at much expense by the way. when money was available and possibly for flood relief/control; MSU put their hand out first. it seems so often consults are hired either to sell their wishes that they won't sell themselves or because they are not qualified for their own job. while many ate the lutefisk, evacuees still loomed. so many motor coaches--so little time to spend that pile-o-dough.

I believe that Marvin51 was being truly sarcastic. I may be wrong and he can correct me, but that is how I read it.

M51: better check your math. our real estate and sales taxes are high and at the nutsy level. taxes need to go down not up.

whistler: A+. it is business or corp. welfare. the mall does their own fix up. i object to helping business because in general they have the bucks whereas many individual taxpayers do not. last but never off my mind--where is the flood control? ignoring it is how we flood. no schools, no event center, no bubble, no more hockey or anything else until we have flood control.

I would love to have a business that didn't have parking directly in front of my door. Lots of people would love to walk a couple hundred feet when it is 30 below.

Marvin, your sarcasm was so loud that I didn't even have to read your post. It was shouting to me! The only ones making out like a dogs in Minot are all the consultants they hire!

Taxes are pretty low now in Minot, so I don't think the people would be opposed to a couple thousand more a year to fund such a worthy project.

The residents of Minot have a huge opportunity in front of them, an opportunity to improve on a downtown with spectacular politicians and eager taxpayers by giving them the downtown they are entitled to. It would only take a little "pinch" in additional taxes so show your pride and pony up again taxpayers.
