Advice to county commission

Tyler Hancock

Minot

This is going to be short, but I have a suggestion for the Ward County Commission: put your money where your mouth is.

If you plan to pass a resolution banning federal COVID-19 restrictions, then send back the $13 million from ARPA. If you are so dead set on avoiding any and all potential safety measures that may be passed down to limit the impact of the pandemic, then refuse the federal money being sent along to assuage pandemic-related problems.

Either do that, or publicly admit that your attempt to assert state’s rights with regards to COVID-19 is a hollow, selfish, idiotic, science- and research-free political move, and you are, at your sticky little base, more motivated by money than by the foolish ideals you swing around when it’s convenient.

Also, can you please provide me with the scientific and / or medical evidence that supports your decision to resist mandates? I’m assuming your decision is based on evidence, because what else could possibly be your reasoning for a decision regarding public health?

I eagerly await your response, or, at least, the announcement that the county will be remitting the 13 million unwanted dollars to the federal government.
