Need should be a factor

Lloyd Kvam, Minot

The cold temperatures are extreme, however, this is not an excuse to abuse the rights of others. Even though my car is plugged in it wouldn’t start this morning. I have a new battery and everything was checked out for my car before winter.

I had to postpone my medical appointment so now I won’t get my needed medications until next week. The point of this article is very clear. I should have a garage. I’m near the top of the waiting list (at the apartment complex). I just moved in so I understand that I have to wait my turn. What I don’t understand is the abuse that some people get away with.

There are people that use a garage for storage and leave their car outside, if they even have a car. Yes, some people don’t have a car but yet they have a garage.

Most large apartment complexes are managed by property management companies. I believe that sometimes the owners aren’t even aware of how their garages are given out. Very few residents are checked as long as they pay the rent. It is more expensive to rent a storage unit.

In my case it’s very difficult to be outside scraping ice off the windows while the car is warming up, if it even starts.

If you can do without a garage I urge you to let somebody else enjoy the luxury of being able to use one. It could even be a matter of life and death.

A guy could have a heart attack getting his car ready to go to his appointments.
