To those of you who have not attended one or more of the legislative forums, you have missed quite an opportunity to see, hear and question your Minot legislators.

They stand before the electors and take questions on any of the more than 1,100 bills. Minot’s representatives and senators are informed, honest, engaged and willing to share their beliefs and why they voted for or against a bill. They are open-minded, willing to be educated by their electorate, and even change their minds occasionally.

Generally, they put their position of representing their voters above their personal beliefs, which at times, is contrary to their electorate’s befiefs. Are they all top notch, no, but pretty darn close. I don’t want to be accused of being biased. But I, for one, appreciate their willingness to listen, learn, teach and defend their stance based on facts. The next forum is March 26 at 9 a.m. at the All Seasons Arena.
