No fan of roundabouts

Have I ever driven through a roundabout intersection?
No, I wasn’t able to drive through, but rather round and round and round until I was in total exasperation as it was evening and I could not find my cousin’s street.
I experimented by taking a street to see if I could find his address, then another, and by then I did not know east from west, north from south.
Finally took one of the choices of streets offered and found a telephone to call him for directions.
Intimidating? Very. The experience was more like riding a merry-go-round except it wasn’t “merry.”
Granted Brookfield, Illinois, is not exactly a small community, so there were many cars going round and round, but I would not recommend a “roundabout” ever! This is probably another city expense to end in a negative basket….Looks good on paper but better in a waste paper basket.
