Vice President Mike Pence recently spoke the truth. In his words: “When it comes to small business America, when it comes to steel America, you have a champion in President Donald Trump.” He continued: “The proof is in your paycheck and that is the tax cuts are working for the people.”

The proof is in our paychecks–all of our paychecks. Because of federal tax cuts, the average middle-class family in North Dakota is seeing a more than $662 boost in after-tax income. Many families will see an even heftier boost, which means more money to pay rent, cover a car lease, or spend on a much-needed vacation.

Moreover, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will create jobs. That’s right: Hundreds of jobs. According to the Tax Foundation, federal tax cuts are expected to yield well over 622 jobs in our state alone.

Between more jobs and more take-home income, how can you disagree with Vice President Mike Pence? The proof is in the paycheck.
