Don’t charge for service yet

Gary Nielsen, Minot

First of all let me state I am not against paying for the electronic reading service of my water meter. What I am displeased with is being charged for a service that is not being used at this time by me or by the City of Minot regarding my residence.

As an example, if Minot is charging 30,000 families for this service at $2 a month and this service has not been installed or activated at those residences then the city is collecting $60,000 for a service which it is not valid and that is not right.

As for the Minot city alderman and the Minot City Council approving the situation of charging for a service not being provided, I feel they need to re-evaluate this subject and make it right.
