Science is still not settled

Heedless of the facts, President Barack Obama and environmental radicals who want to destroy the coal industry and drive up electricity bills have claimed for years that global warming was causing more and more severe hurricanes. The truth is that hurricane seasons have been milder during recent years.

But now, two leading researchers say a much milder period of hurricanes is in the offing – in part because of the climate. For one thing, they say, part of the North Atlantic Ocean has been getting cooler.

These are not crackpot pseudo-scientists. One of them, Phil Klotzbach of Colorado State University, was a pioneer of seasonal forecasting of hurricanes.

Their work is controversial, with some other recognized experts disputing it.

Still, it is research contradicting claims by Obama and his cronies. It is, in short, evidence that the science is not settled.
