Continue to repair Obamacare

Scare tactics have been an integral part of the liberal strategy for attempting to foist the deeply flawed Obamacare scheme on the American people. So it was last week after the Supreme Court ruled a part of the health care takeover affecting about 8.7 million new Medicaid clients is legal.

That many people were added to the Medicaid rolls as part of Obamacare. Liberals had warned darkly that if the court ruled negatively, all would lose their health insurance benefits.

No such thing would have happened. Many of the new Medicaid enrollees are in states that would not have been affected by an unfavorable court ruling. And rest assured, members of Congress would have acted swiftly to help the others. As President Barack Obama himself put it, doing so would have required changing a single sentence in the law.

But the court’s ruling, though it involved just a single problem among many with Obamacare, is being taken by some as an overall stamp of approval. It is no such thing.

Reformers eager to provide a truly good health care program should continue their efforts, both in court and in Congress, to repair as much of the Obamacare damage as possible.
