Frank Andrew MacPherson passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at an assisted living residence in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 92.
Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in 1933, Frank began his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, serving in Ottawa and Saskatchewan. While with the RCMP, he earned a law degree and went on to serve as a prosecuting attorney in Ontario before beginning a long and respected judicial career. He was widely admired by lawyers, court personnel, and colleagues for his fairness, intellect, and integrity.
Frank later received a Master of Theological Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, reflecting his lifelong curiosity and love of learning. An avid reader and book collector, he maintained a library of more than 400 volumes on history, the classics, philosophy, and theology. He was also a gifted pianist, a fine ballroom dancer, and a man known for his humor, warmth, and wisdom.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie; son Roger (Betsy) of Regina; stepchildren William Thomas of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; Robert (Patti) Thomas of Minot, North Dakota; Barbara (Will) Combs of Benicia, California; and Ben (Gwen) Thomas of Fargo, North Dakota; along with numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Lila MacPherson; his brother, Douglas; and his daughter, Carmen.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, North Dakota, followed by interment at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
