John Stokke

John Stokke, 79, Gran-

ville, ND, passed away on

Friday, July 29, 2022 in a

Minot hospital.

John William Stokke

was born September 8,

1942, the third son of Iver

and Dorothy (Busch)

Stokke in Minot, ND. He

was raised on the family

farm and attended School

in Granville, where he

graduated in 1960.

After graduation John

enlisted into the United

States Navy where he was

stationed in Bermuda.

John was honorably

discharged on September

6, 1963.

Following his

discharge, John returned

to the family farm, where

he enjoyed the farm lifes-

tyle. He also worked in

maintenance at the Minot

Air Force Base, making

sure the runways were al-

ways clear of snow. Fol-

lowing his retirement,

John continued to live in

Granville, ND, where he

resided at the time of his

death.

John was a member of

the Granville American

Legion Post #155, where

he held various offices.

He enjoyed target shoot-

ing, hunting and having

breakfast at the Memorial

Diner in Granville with

his friends. He loved shar-

ing his strong convictions

on every topic, but was

also tolerant of his more

liberal relatives on the

West Coast. John will be

remembered for his faith,

determination, sincerity,

his great sense of humor

and his love for his family

and friends. He will be

dearly missed by all who

knew him.

John is survived by:

Erwin, Debbie Locke and

Eugene Stokke.

John was preceded in

death by his parents,

brothers Vern, Eugene, M.

Wesley Stokke and

nephew Daniel Stokke.
