Delina Johansen died
peacefully on Aug. 1,
2022, in Trinity Hospital
in Minot
Delina was born Aug.
15, 1936, to Edwin and
Florence (Bokovoy) Horob
in Minot. She grew up in
Ryder and graduated from
Ryder High School in
1954. She attended Minot
Business College and
worked at Lakeside State
Bank and the Bureau of
Indian Affairs Fort Bert-
hold Agency, both in New
Town, where her parents
owned and operated the
Coast to Coast Store.
She married Gerald
Johansen on Oct. 6, 1957,
at the Congregational
Church in New Town.
After their marriage they
moved to Wichita Falls,
Texas, for six months
while Gerald was in the
Air Force. They returned
to North Dakota and lived
on a farm northwest of
Ryder until 2001 when
they moved into Ryder.
Gerald died July 1, 2017.
Delina then moved to
Minot where she lived un-
til the time of her death.
Delina enjoyed visiting,
jigsaw puzzles, reading,
watching Minnesota Vik-
ings and NDSU Bison
games and making trips
with her friend, Shirley
Hovda, to New Town to
the casino.
She was a member of
Calvary Presbyterian
Church and its Ladies Aid
in Ryder. She also taught
Sunday school. She was
also a member of the Hap-
py Hour Senior Citizens
and the former Busy Bees
Homemaker Club, both of
Ryder.

Her Life: son, Bryce
(Nancy) Johansen, Ryder;
daughters, Brenda
Rehnke, Peoria, Ariz., and
Laurie (Mark) Reece,
Albuquerque, N.M.;
grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; brothers,
Ardell (Charlene) Horob,
Bismarck, and Darrell
Horob, Fort Mohave,
Ariz.; and nieces,
nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in
death by her husband;
parents; brother, Gary;
and son-in-law, David
Rehnke.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug.
20, at 11 a.m. in the Ryder
Gym in Ryder. Lunch will
follow the service in the
Ryder Gym.
There will be no visita-
tion but family and
friends can sign the guest
book starting one hour
prior to the service in the
Ryder Gym.
Burial: Monday, Aug.
22, at 11 a.m. at the North
Dakota Veterans Ceme-
tery, Mandan.
Memorials: Donor’s
choice.
