Minot, ND, passed away
Thursday, January 20,
2022, at a Minot hospital.
Ricky Allen Ohlhauser
was born on June 18,
1952, a son of Edward and
Lorraine (Beitelspacher)
Ohlhauser in Linton, ND.
He was raised and educat-
ed in Linton, graduating
from Linton High School.
On January 19, 1971,
Rick enlisted into the Un-
ited States Army. He
proudly served his coun-
try until his honorable
discharge on January 18,
1974. He then went into
the Army Reserve until
January 18, 1977.
Following his
discharge, he returned to
the Bismarck area, where
he started a career in con-
struction, specializing in
roofing, siding and win-
dows. In 1978, he met
Deb Volochenko, and the
couple were united in
marriage on July 5, 1991.
They made their home in
Minot, where Rick contin-
ued in the construction
business, retiring due to
an injury.
He enjoyed working
outdoors in his yard, fish-
ing, camping, restoring
old cars and working on
lawn mowers. His pride
and joy was his 1994
Dodge Ram pickup, the
first in the state sold with
the then new body style.
Rick was also a lifetime
member of the American
Legion and the VFW Post.
He was a loving husband,
father, grandfather and
friend and will be missed
by all that knew him.
Rick is survived by:

step-son: Wayne (Tabitha)
Volochenko; grandchil-
dren: Anthony Myers,
Jeremiah Myers,
Nathaniel Myers, Breanna
Manion, Earl John Man-
ion; Brian Volochenko,

Volochenko; step-son
Hunter Laven and Austin
Laven; siblings: Lyle (De-
anna) Ohlhauser, Loretta
(Dennis) Mitzel, Lena
Bayer, Lorna (Denny) El-
kins, Leo Ohlhauser;
half-brother’s and sisters;
Shirley (Victor) Sprenger,
Todd Ohlhauser, and Da-
vid Ohlhauser;
sisters-in-law Candy
Ohlhauser; several nieces,
nephews and cousins also
survive. Special travel
companion and favorite
dog Roxy also survives.
Rick was preceded in
death by father Edward,
mother Lorraine,
step-father Irvin Baker,
step-mother Marion,
brother Leland Ohlhauser,
sister Lou Ann Ohlhauser,
nieces and nephew, Ben,
Trina, and Shannon.
The Ohlhauser family
