Sharon Erickson
Sept. 7, 1940-Oct. 18, 2021
Sharon Erickson, 81,
Minot, ND, passed away
unexpectedly Monday,
October 18, 2021, at her
home.
Sharon Vangsness was
born September 7, 1940, a
daughter of Rudolph
and Anna Vangsness, in
Minot, ND.
She was raised on a
hard-working family farm
near Roseglen, ND. She
started her education at a
rural school near there
and graduated from Minot
High School in 1958.
Sharon married Phillip
E. Erickson July 8, 1961,
at Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Roseglen, ND.
Phil and Sharon were
married for 49 years until
his death in 2010.
She began her career at
Westlie Motor Company
as an executive secretary.
After working there she
took time off to raise their
two sons, Troy and
Shane. Sharon enjoyed
being a homemaker. She
loved to bake and share
her baked goods with
everyone. It always would
bring a smile to
everyone’s faces. After
raising their two sons,
Sharon decided to go back
to work and started work-
ing at Wylie Piano Com-
pany.
Sharon had a very good
ear for music and could
sit at a piano and play
anything she heard. Any-
time The Voice or
America’s Got Talent was
on television she was on
the couch watching and
very much enjoyed the
talent on the shows.
Every holiday was
spent at Sharon’s home.
We always had the best
food and laughs at her
house.
She was a very fussy
housekeeper and nothing
was ever out of place.
Sharon loved to plant
flowers and care for them
but she would get
discouraged when the
deer would eat them all.
She loved and enjoyed
her grandsons, Travis and
Trevor, very much. She
helped raise them in their
younger years.
She was a member of
