Oran Keith

June 7, 1929 – Oct. 6, 2021

Oran Lovell Keith, 92,

Sherwood, died Wednes-

day, Oct. 6, 2021, at a

Mohall nursing home.

He was born on June 7,

1929, at home, in rural

Bottineau County, to

Lovell and Selma (Roths)

Keith. He attended school

at Clay Center and Mohall

Public School. After

school he worked on the

family farm with his fa-

ther near Mohall.

Oran was united in

marriage to Audrey

Anderson on Sept. 21,

1951. To this union, two

children were born: a

daughter, Kathy Mae, and

a son, Steven John. He

enlisted in the Army in

1951 and was honorably

discharged in 1953. The

couple lived in Port

Townsend, Wash., while

Oran was in the military,

and then moved back to

North Dakota. They

farmed near Mohall for

several years before mov-

ing to Sherwood where

they took over the farm

from Audrey’s father.

Oran retired from the

family farm in the

mid-1990s and began

working for Farmers Un-

ion Oil in Mohall. Once

he retired from Farmers

Union Oil, he continued

to help on the family

farm. He enjoyed running

combine for his cousins

until he was 88 years old.

Oran was active in the

American Legion, serving

as Post Commander, Ad-

jutant and District Offices.

He served as Prosperity

Township Supervisor, on

the Renville County Zon-

ing Committee and drove

bus for Sherwood Public

School.

Our family is comforted

to know that Oran has

joined his lifetime love,

Audrey, in heaven.
