Ione Harshberger, 91,
Minot, died Thursday,
September 23, 2021 in a
Minot assisted living facil-
ity.
Ione Eloise Enga was
born March 28, 1930, in
Rugby, ND to Edwin and
Ina (Engebrit) Enga. She
was reared on a farm in
Horseshoe Lake Township
of Pierce County, attended
a rural school and gra-
duated from Rugby High
School in 1947. As a
young adult she attended
Minot Business College
where she received spe-
cialized secretarial train-
ing and taught at a rural
Pierce County school for
one year (the same school
she attended as a child).
Ione was united in mar-
riage to Floyd Harshberger
on October 2, 1949, in
Rugby. They made their
home in Minot for many
years and she was em-
ployed at Union National
Bank and Minot Beverage
Company, but her passion
was her family. Floyd,
who was a longtime Minot
contractor, passed away
on May 13, 2009.
Ione was a member of
Bethany Lutheran
Church-Minot, where she
was active in a church cir-
cle and quilting group.
Also, she was active in ac-
tivities related to her
children’s interests.
Ione enjoyed gardening,
especially tending to her
flowers, and was talented
in the kitchen, baking and
cooking for her family.
She also enjoyed needle-
work, especially sewing
and knitting.

vived by her children: Da-
vid (Paulette) Harshberger
of Phoenix, Robert (Diana)
Harshberger of Fargo, and
Mary (Edward) Duchsher-
er of Minot; grandchil-
dren: Kelly Harshberger,
Michael (Kim) Harsh-
berger, Keri Harshberger,
Jared (Hannah) Foley, and
Ryan (Jessica) Foley; great
granddaughters: Brynn
and Jenna Harshberger
and Henley Foley; sister:
Joyce Thompson of Sheri-
dan WY; sister-in-law:
Janyce Enga of Rugby and
several nephews and
cousins.
Ione was preceded in
death by: her parents,
husband, grandson: Chris-
tian Robert Harshberger,
brother: Clayton Enga and
brother-in-law: Donald
Thompson.

Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday,
September 28, 2021, from

the Thomas Family Fun-
eral Home, Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of
plants and flowers,
memorials are preferred
to Bethany Lutheran
Church or the donor’s
choice.
