Ruth H. Detlaff, 88,

Glenburn, ND, passed

away peacefully on

Wednesday, June 9, 2021

in her home. She was wel-

comed by God as an angel

and all her loved ones

who had gone before her.

Ruth Helen Haugen was

born on January 11, 1933,

a daughter of Harold O.

and Catharine E. (Gron-

inger) Haugen in Des

Lacs, ND. She was raised

and educated in Des Lacs,

graduating fom Des Lacs

High School, graduating

in 1951. She also attended

the United Methodist

Church of Des Lacs.

On September 28, 1952,

Ruth was united in mar-

riage to Ralph Arnold Det-

laff at Lynch Immanuel

Lutheran Church, rural

Glenburn, ND. They made

their home in Glenburn,

ND on the Detlaff family

farm, where they raised

their four children. Ralph

died November 19, 2014

Ruth taught Sunday

School and Vacation Bible

School, served on the

Alter Guild, was a 4-H

and Farmers Union

Leader and a member of

the Merry Farmerettes

Homemakers Club.

She loved to travel in

their motorhome, sewing,

decorating and spending

time with her family.

Ruth is survived by:

Detlaff, Phoenix, AZ, Ran-

dy (Linda) Detlaff, Wash-

burn, ND; Daughters:

Shelley (Wayne) Hammer

and Scarlet (Pat) Dean, all

of Glenburn, ND;

Grandchildren: Ryan

(Kendall) Detlaff, Becky

Detlaff all of Phoenix, AZ,

Suzanne Hammer, Fargo,

Jason Hammer, Colehar-

bor, Jasmine (Jeff) Pape,

Duluth, MN, Justin Det-

laff, Beulah, Karissa Dean,

Glenburn and Latasha

Dean, Glenburn and Far-

go, ND; Two Great-

grandchildren, Laken and

Drake Pape, Duluth, MN;

several nieces, nephews

and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in

death by her parents, hus-

band of 62 years Ralph,

sisters, Jean Haugen, Faye

Haugen, Joyce Fjeldahl,

Gloria Cox, Anna Ra-

demacher, Ida Haugen,

Bonnie Patterson, broth-

ers, Harold Haugen,

Robert Haugen and Gary

Haugen.

Visitation: Saturday,

June 19, 2021, one hour

prior to service in the Liv-

ing Word Lutheran

Church, Minot, ND

Funeral Service: Satur-

day, June 19, 2021 at

10:30 a.m. at Living Word

Lutheran Church, Minot
