Loren Vannett, 67,
Minot died peacefully,
from Lung Cancer, on
Thursday, June 10, 2021
in a Minot hospital. His
loving family was at his
side.
Loren Lester Vannett
was born on February 24,
1954 in Minot to Lester
and Mabel (Olson) Van-
nett. He was raised in
Minot, graduated from
Minot High School, at-
tended Minot State
University and graduated
from North Dakota State
University with a degree
in University Studies. As
a young adult he was em-
ployed by the Mayville-
Portland Police Depart-
ment prior to beginning
his career with the North
Dakota Army National
Guard. As a fulltime
guardsman he worked as
a supply specialist, per-
sonnel administrator, ad-
ministrative specialist, le-
gal specialist and combat
engineer prior to his
honorable discharge, after
more than twenty years,
as a staff sergeant.
Loren married Carla
Joan Cuddigan on August
16, 1997 in Minot. They
made their home in Minot
where following his retire-ment from the National
Guard he was employed
by U.S. Investigative Ser-
vices, E-Telecare and as a
salesman at Muus Lumber
from 2008 until the
present.
Loren especially en-
joyed bowling, darts, soft-
ball, golf, music, food and
family. He was a lifetime
member of the American
Legion and member of the
Moose Lodge and Nation-al Guard Enlisted Associa-tion of the United States.
Loren’s loving family
includes: his wife of al-
most 24 years: Carla; step-
children: Christopher
Reiter and Kelly Parker;
step-grandchildren: An-
thony Walker (Yesenia),
Aaliyah Reiter (Monta),
Amani Reiter, Quintin
Jones, Ariyah and Azalea
Brady; great grandchil-
dren: Aiden Walker,
Gianna Reiter; siblings:
Alden (Grace) Vannett,
Allwyn (Karin) Vannett,
Claude (Carol) Vannett
and Cheryl (Paul) Jaschob;
mother-in-law Elaine
Cuddigan; brother-in-law
John Cuddigan; sisters-
in-law, Deb Cuddigan
(Jim) and Cathy Burniche
(Tom) and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Loren was preceded in
death by his parents and
sister: Roxanne.
Celebration of the Life

Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at
2:00 p.m. in Our
Redeemer’s Church –
Minot.
Interment: Wednesday,
June 16th at 11:00 a.m. in
the North Dakota Veterans
Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Visitation: Monday
from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m. in Thomas Family
Funeral Home – Minot.
