Lillian Vesey Richter,

98, Minot, ND, formerly of

Blaisdell, ND, passed

away Thursday, June 10,

2021, at Souris Valley

Care Center in Velva.

Lillian Evelyn Slind

was born August 19, 1922,

on her parents’ farm locat-

ed in Amundsville Town-

ship of McLean County,

rural Ryder, ND. She was

the eighth of nine chil-

dren born to Bersvend

“Ben” and Ingeborg (Har-

stad) Slind. Lillian was

raised on the family farm

and educated in Ryder.

Lillian married Reynold

K. Vesey in 1943. From

this union, four children,

Carolyn, Gail, Roger and

Terry, were born. They

made their home on a

farm south of Blaisdell

where they farmed for

many years. They were

later divorced.

Lillian married Orville

Richter December 16,

1977. Orville passed away

in the spring of 1979.

Lillian worked for Trin-

ity Hospital in their

housekeeping department

until retiring after many

years.

She was a member of

St. Mark’s Lutheran

Church and the Moose

Lodge. She enjoyed play-

ing Bingo, embroidery

work and dancing at the

Moose.

Her loving family in-

cludes: children, Carolyn

Stair, Minot, Gail Becker,

Puyallup, WA, Roger

(Darlene) Vesey, Blaisdell,

and Terry (Deb) Vesey,

Wilton, ND; ten

grandchildren, Mitch

Myers, Brenda (Tim) Ma-

tuszek, Rick Myers, Bruce

(Shawnan) Becker, Tracy

Barnes, Joe (Emily) Vesey,

Peggy (Kyle) Bauer, Ryan

(Katie) Rafferty, Robin

Vesey, and Carrie Vesey;

26 great-grandchildren;

two great

great-grandchildren;

sisters-in-law, Mildred

Slind, Minot, Mavis Slind,

Jamestown, ND, and Her-

mine Slind of Aberdeen,

Maryland; and numerous

nieces and nephews. Lilli-

an was preceded in death

by her parents; husband,

Orville; brothers, Edwin,

Arthur, Kenneth, Melvin,

Rueben, and Lynn; sisters,

Myrtle Sessing and Ber-

nice Eidem; grandson, Da-

vid Vesey; great-grandson,

Arlo Vesey;

great-granddaughter, Cas-

sidy Bauer.

Thursday, June 17, 2021,

at 11:00 a.m. at Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot,

ND.

Visitation: Wednesday

from 4 to 6 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.
