Darren Hanson

March 31, 1966-May 11, 2021

Darren Hanson, 55, Car-

pio, passed away on Tues-

day, May 11, 2021 at a

Minot hospital.

Darren was born on

March 31, 1966 in Minot

to Byron and Judith (John-

son) Hanson. He was

raised and educated in the

Carpio area, graduating

from Carpio High School

in 1985.

After graduation, Dar-

ren went to the North

Dakota State College of

Science in Wapheton, ND

where he graduated with

a Diesel Mechanic’s De-

gree. He then returned to

the Carpio area to work in

the oil fields with his

brother and father. When

the work in the oil fields

slowed down, Darren

moved to Witchita, KS to

work for Cummings

Diesel and the Kansas

Truck Center

Mid-America. In April of

2010, he moved back to

Carpio to help on the fam-

ily farm when his father

became ill and has been

farming ever since.

Darren was an uncom-

plicated man who loved

to keep things simple. He

loved spending time with

family and friends and

held many gatherings at

the family farm. Darren’s

favorite hobbies were

snowmobiling in the

winter and playing Texas

Hold’em at any time.

Darren is survived by

his mother, Judith Han-

son, Carpio; brother,

Gerald Hanson (Jessica

Fred) and their sons, Tris-

tan and Dillon Schettler,

Carpio; sister, Annette

(Joe) Drebenstedt and

their son, Jeffrey, Witchi-

ta, KS; and numerous

aunts, uncles, and

cousins.

He was preceded in

death by his father and

grandparents.

Visitation: Thursday,

May 20, 2021 from 5:00

-7:00 p.m. at the Carpio

Lutheran Church.

Prayer Service: Thurs-

day at 7 p.m. at the Carpio

Lutheran Church.

Memorial Service: Fri-

day, May 21, 2021 at 11

am at the Carpio Lutheran

Church in Carpio.

The service will be

livestreamed for the pub-

lic to view and can be ac-
