Alec Zorn

Alec Zorn—86, Minot,

died Tuesday, May 11,

2021 in a Minot hospital.

Alec Arthur Zorn was

born on December 26,

1934, a son of Christ and

Lillian (Brandt) Zorn in

Bottineau, ND. He was

raised and educated in the

Gardena area, where he

graduated from Gardena

High School in 1952.

On June 24, 1961, Alec

was united in marriage to

Beverly Hahn in Gardena.

They made their home in

Minot where together they

raised their three sons,

continued to farm in the

Gardena area while build-

ing and operating the

Minot Miniature Golf

Course. In 1967, they

started a fireworks busi-

ness that continues today.

In the early 80’s, Alec’s

entrepreneur spirit led

him to selling the farm,

and pursuing other in-

terests, which included

the development,

manufacturing and distri-bution of Dakota Brand

Pancake and Waffle Mix.

He drove school bus for

Nedrose Public School for

several years and was

adored by many of the

students. In 1993, they

started and operated A&B

Tours where they

travelled throughout the

United States and Canada.

Alec loved the travel, peo-

ple, entertainment and

foods.

Alec thoroughly en-

joyed the outdoors hunt-

ing and fishing with his

family and his favorite

dog Sam. He was involved

in the boy’s activities in-

cluding basketball, base-

ball, football and car rac-

ing. Later in life, he en-

joyed gardening with his

wife, suppling vegetables

for the entire family. He

was a loving husband, fa-

ther, grandfather,

great-grandfather and

friend. He will be missed

by all that knew him.

Hahn and Carol Johnson;

Several nieces, nephews

and cousins also survive.

Alec was preceded in

death by his parents, an

infant brother and in-laws

Gordon and Joan Hahn

and Myron and Jean

Hahn.

day, May 15, 2021 at

10:30 am at St. Mark’s
