Donald Kasper

Donald J. Kasper, 87,

Minot, ND, died Monday,

April 12, 2021 in a Minot

nursing facility. Don was

born on March 9, 1934 in

Drake, ND, a son of

Joseph and Loretta (Von-

derheide) Kasper. He was

raised and educated in

Butte, ND, graduating

from high school in 1951.

He was drafted into the

U.S. Army in September

of 1953 and was

discharged in September

of 1955. Donald married

his “lovely girlfriend”

Beatrice “Beaty” Gefroh

on November 14, 1955 in

Karlsruhe, ND. The cou-

ple moved to Minot in

1957. Don was employed

by Piggly Wiggly Grocery,

Voellers Furniture, Feist

Constructionand I. Keat-

ing Furniture, as well as

working in real estate. He

was named realtor of the

year in 1972. In later

years, he was the courtesy

car driver and “master of

public relations” for the

Minot Chrysler Center in

Minot. Don was very ac-

tive in the community of

Minot. He belonged to

numerous organizations

and clubs, including the

Golden K Kiwanis, the

Morning Lions Club, the

American Legion of Butte,

ND, the Bel Air School

PTA and the Bishop Ryan

Catholic School Activi-

ties. He was a member of

the Century Club of the

Blood Bank. Most impor-

tantly, Don was an active

participant in his faith

and with his family. He

was a charter member of

St. John The Apostle

Catholic Church in Minot,

where he was an usher,

reader, lay minister and

member of many commit-tees. His children attend-

ed Bishop Ryan Catholic

School, where Don and

Beaty were very active in

every facet of volunteer

work. Don and Beaty were

inducted into the Bishop

Ryan Catholic School Hall

of Fame in 2016. Don is

survived by his sons,

Minot; daughter in law,

Mary Kasper (the late

Mark Kasper), Minot;
