Larry “Barney” Burns,
64, Minot, ND, passed
away on Wednesday,
April 21, 2021, in his
home.
Larry Allen “Barney”
Burns was born on March
11, 1957, the son of Jerry
and Alice (Korgel) Burns,
in Minot, ND. He was
raised and educated in
Minot, graduating from
Minot High School in
1975.
As a young adult, Bar-
ney worked on his
grandparent’s farm milk-
ing cows. He then went to
work in the oil field, farm-
ing and construction. He
worked for Carl Buechler,
Mac’s Construction,
Barry’s Excavating.
Barney was always a
jokester, who enjoyed
playing tricks on his
nieces, nephews, and
friends. He enjoyed mak-
ing everyone laugh. He
loved to throw darts, play
Bingo, and was a Kansas
City Chief’s fan. Barney
also enjoyed watching the
Nodak Speedway and
World of Outlaws and
maybe having a cocktail
or two.
Barney is survived by:
his sisters and brothers,
Rebecca (Kevin) Sebas-
tian, Minot, Garry (Becky)
Burns, Enderlin, ND, Clay
(Faye) Burns, Minot, and
Roberta (Michael) Bossie,
Minot; stepbrother, Ricky
(Teresa) Johnson, Ken-
mare; nieces and
nephews, Thomas (Kayla)
and Andrew Sebastian,
Jennifer (Russ) Land-
phere, Bobb, Chad, James,
and Joe (Alyssa) Burns,
Jessica Baker, Megan
(Travis) Ziolkowski, and
Josh Bossie; close friends,
Monique and Lori; and
many greatnieces, great-
nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in
death by: his parents;
stepfather, Richard John-
son; grandparents, Leo
and Jeanette Korgel and
Harry and Irene Burns;
stepsister, Rose Haaland;
aunts and uncles, Harold,
Robert, and Leo (Janice)
Korgel, Donna (Ronald)
Sorenson, Alfred (Delores)
Schieve; and cousins,
Craig, Scott and Kevin
Sorenson.
Memorial Service:
Thursday, April 29, 2021,
at 3:00 p.m. at Bethany
Lutheran Church, Minot.
Those attending are re-
quired to wear a mask.
Memorials: In lieu of
flowers, memorials are
preferred.
A Celebration of Life
Gathering will take place
after the service at the
VFW Club in Minot.
