Lois O. (Melin) Wallace,

78, Kenmare, ND, passed

away on Saturday, Janu-

ary 23, 2021 in a Minot

hospital.

Lois Odette Melin was

born on February 6, 1942,

a daughter of Amos L. and

Ada I. (Andersen) Melin

in Kenmare, ND. She was

raised in the Norma, ND

area, and attended Norma

School.

In 1958, Lois was unit-

ed in marriage to Ronald

Mehus. Together they had

a son, Lynn, and made

their home in the Sher-

wood, ND area. In 1980,

the couple divorced. In

1983, Lois was united in

marriage to Ken Wallace.

They made their home in

McPherson and Hutchis-

on, KS. They later di-

vorced. In 2010, Lois re-

turned to Kenmare to be

closer to family and

friends.

Lois held various posi-

tions in the Kenmare area,

including housekeeping at

the hotel and worked

alongside her siblings at

the soil conservation

center planting trees. She

was a self-taught seam-

stress, and was able to fix

anything, even upholster-

ing the seats of vehicles.

Her most important job,

was that of homemaker

and mother.

Lois enjoyed spending

time with her family,

along with sewing, can-

ning, fishing, crocheting

and was an avid Kansas

Jayhawks basketball fan.

She was a wonderful

mother, grandmother, sis-

ter, aunt and friend and

will be missed by all that

knew her.

Lois is survived by:

Son Lynn (Carol)

Mehus, Stanley, ND; three

grandchildren: Reed (Ash-

ley) Mehus, Rachel

(Kevin) Kottsick, ReeAnn

(Austyn) Sadowsky; two

great-grandchildren: Lana

and Cal Kottsick; special

niece Vicki Larson, Minot;

Siblings: John (Marlene)

Melin, Kenmare, Carl

(Linda) Melin, Kenmare,

Shirley (Joe) Brunner,

Kenmare, Mae Hansen,

Green River, WY;

sister-in-law Janice Melin,

Kenmare, ND; Several

nieces, nephews and

cousins also survive.

Lois was preceded in

death by: her parents, two

brothers Allan and Ralph,

a niece Terri Jensen, and a

brother-in-law, Clayton

Hansen

Visitation: Thursday,

January 28, 2021 from

noon until service time at

the Trinity Lutheran

Church, rural Kenmare,

ND. All local and state

CDC Covid-19 guidelines

will be followed.

Private Family Funeral

Service: Thursday, Janu-

ary 28, 2021, at 1:00 pm at

Trinity Lutheran Church,

rural Kenmare, ND.
