Dorothy Ida Hay, 85,

Minot and formerly of

Santa Rosa, CA, died

Monday, December 21,

2020 in a Minot hospital.

Dorothy was born on

December 31, 1934 in Ca-

zadero, California to Joe

and Delma (Harris) Toura-

dy. She attended school

in Valley Ford and then

transferred to St. Rose’s in

Santa Rosa, California.

After graduating high

school in 1952, she en-

rolled in business school

at Santa Rosa Business

College. After business

college, she began her

career working at a bank

in Santa Rosa.

In January of 1956, she

went on a ski trip in

Heavenly Valley, Califor-

nia. It was there that she

met the love of her life,

Wesley Lee Hay. Wesley

was from North Dakota

and stationed at Two

Rock Ranch Army Base in

Petaluma, California.

They married on October

20, 1956 and made a

home in Santa Rosa, Cali-

fornia where they raised

their four children: Teri,

Darren, Kelley, and

Timothy. Later they ad-

ded Rigo Santos to their

family.

After retiring, Dorothy

and Wesley moved back

to North Dakota in 2005.

Dorothy enjoyed her

grandchildren immensely

– Jared Dalby (Minot,

ND), Greg Dalby (Minot,

ND), and Tara Dalby

(Crowley, TX), Brittany

and Kassie Kilpatrick

(Cedar Rapids, IA), Derick

Hay (Canton, GA), Derina,

Dusten, and Danell Hay

(CA), Nicholas Santos

(Santa Rosa, CA), and

Lauren and Ryan Hay

(Santa Rosa, CA).

Dorothy enjoyed cook-

ing, boat rides and fishing

with her special pole,

CHRISTmas, laughing,

cards and dice games

along with Hallmark

movies, trips to the casi-

no, and visits with her

children were also on her

list of favorite things.

She was so loved and

such a treasure to all who

knew her. She is irre-

placeable and cherished.

Dorothy is survived by:

her husband of 64 years,

Wesley Hay; children,

Teri (Scott) Dalby, Minot,

ND, Darren (Barbara) Hay,

Canton, GA, Kelley Hay,

Minot, ND, Rigo Santos,

Vallejo, CA, and Tim

(Maria) Hay, Santa Rosa,

CA; 12 grandchildren;

brother, Lyle (Lynn)

Parmley, Santa Rosa, CA;

cousin, Donna (Gerry)

Fikes, OR, and numerous

friends and family.

Dorothy was preceded

in death by her parents.
