Minot, ND, passed away
Thursday, December 31,
2020, in his home in
Minot.
Calvin Eugene Brandt
was born March 22, 1927,
to Gottlieb and Elizabeth
(Pfau) Brandt on the fami-
ly farm located south of
Kramer, ND. He was con-
firmed at the Reformed
Church and was educated
at Kramer School.
Calvin enlisted in the
United States Army in
1945. He proudly served
his country during World
War II as a member of
Company K, 16th Infantry
Regiment, 1st Infantry
Division. Calvin was part
of the first occupation
troop in Berlin. He was
honorably discharged as a
Staff Sergeant in 1947.
Following his honorable
discharge, Calvin renewed
his interest in Beatrice
Wruck and the two court-
ed for a year before get-
ting married January 2,
1949, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Calvin returned to Kra-
mer to work on the family
farm with his father.
Later, he partnered with
his sister on a ranch
northwest of Upham, ND,
as well as having his own
herd of Hereford’s at the
Kramer farm.
In 1969, Calvin and
Beatrice moved to Minot
and he worked for
Kemper Construction,
Crane Plumbing, Thun-
derbird Plumbing and
Electric, and finally at the
Minot Air Force Base as a
heavy equipment opera-
tor. During this time, he
and Beatrice also owned
and operated the Ho Hum
Motel for many years.
Calvin was honored
with many titles during
his lifetime. Among them
are Township Clerk, Life-
time Member of the Minot
American Legion Post
#26, and Church Deacon,
but his most important ti-
tle was that of father.
His loving family in-
cludes: wife 72 years,
Beatrice, Minot; children,
Allen Brandt, Waubun,
MN, Lynnette (Steve)
Glaspie, Minot, ND, and
Sherri (Harold) Olsen,
Beulah, ND; 9 grandchil-
dren, Dion (Lisa) Brandt,
Dale (Deb) Brandt, Layne
(Dawn) Brandt, Joel Ol-
sen, Jay (Ashley) Olsen,
Julia (Alex) Amiot, Kaylin
(Michael) Bromley, Ash-
ley Glaspie, Arielle
Glaspie; 10 great- grand-
children, Parker Brandt,
Dacotah Brandt, Hunter
Brandt, Everett and Emer-
sen Olsen, Hudson, Phae-
dra and Ephraim Amiot,
Dannalee and Marshall
Kennedy; 3 great great-
grandchildren, Raelynn
and Milo Myles, and Beau
Kennedy; and numerous
nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Calvin was preceded in
death by his parents;
brothers, Arthur (Grace)
Brandt, Albert (Ruth)
Brandt, Herbert Brandt;
sisters, Emma Hamblin,
Adeline Halvorson, Mar-
tha Stebner, Alma Sessler,
and Gertrude Townsend.
Funeral: Wednesday,
January 6, 2021, at 1:00
pm at Trinity Evangelical
Free Church in Minot.
The family encourages

masks and social distance.
Interment: Rosehill
Memorial Park, Minot,
ND.
Visitation: Wednesday
from noon to 1:00 p.m. at
Trinity Evangelical Free
Church in Minot.
