Pfenning, 85, longtime

Minot resident, died Sa-

turday, November 28,

2020 at her home sur-

rounded by her loving

family and hospice.

Percy was born June 29,

1935 at Tagus, North

Dakota the daughter of

Melvin and Ruth

(Schram) Peterson. She

was raised on the family

farm near Tagus and at-

tended schools at

Lonetree, ND, prior to her

family moving to Minot.

She graduated from Minot

High School in 1953.

Percy was united in

marriage to Marvin Pfen-

ning on August 29, 1958

at Minot. Along with rais-

ing their two children, she

was employed at NW Col-

lection Agency from

1953-1958 and later with

Peterson Loan Agency for

7 years. She also worked

as a secretary for First As-

sembly of God Church for

several years and did ba-

bysitting for several fami-

lies in the Minot area.

Percy was a member of

Minot Christian Women’s

Club and several Bible

study groups. She was

awarded the “Book of Gol-

den Deeds” by the Minot

Exchange Club in 1987.

She and Marvin had been

foster care parents for 16

years.

She was a member of

First Assembly of God

Church, where she sang

in the church choir, many

trios and for a number of

years on the Church Ra-

dio broadcast on Sunday

mornings on KLPM Radio.

She had also served on

the ND Keen Camp com-

mittee for several years

and with the Seniors

group at First Assembly.

She enjoyed sewing,

traveling and spending

time with family, espe-

cially her grandchildren.

Her loving family in-

cludes: husband of 62

years, Marv; children,

Lynn (Pace) Pfenning,

Andover, MN, and Jenean

(Doni) Jessen, Minot;

grandchildren, Kjersten

(Marcus) Refsland, Taylor

(Kim) Pfenning, Mallory

(Luke) Lendl, Dan Maro-

ney, Levi Jessen, Tanner

Jessen and Emmanuel

Charging; 8

great-grandchildren to in-

clude: Ryder, Adelyn, Lib-

by, Braye, Trygg, Greta,

Emmett and Mylee Jessen;

several nieces, nephews

and cousins.

Percy was preceded in

death by: her parents;

brother, Oscar; sisters,

Margaret Huwe and Luel-

la Hanson; step-father, Art

Krefting; and step-sisters,

Judy Rhode and Ruth

Hiller.

Face coverings and so-

cial distancing are strong-

ly recommended.

5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in

First Baptist Church,

Minot.

Interment: Rosehill

Memorial Park, Minot.

Public Visitation: Fri-
