2020, at Edgewood Vista
Assisted Living in Minot.
Maryls Vernon Daniel-
son was born August 7,
1928, the son of Leonard
and Ida (Asbe) Danielson
in Carpio, ND. He grew
up on the family farm in
Carpio with his two sis-
ters, Eileen and Verdella.
He attended a country
school in the area and gra-
duated salutatorian from
Carpio High School in
1946. He then attended
Business College in
Minot.
Maryls married Glendi-
va Flaten on February 12,
1950, at St. John’s Luth-
eran Church in Carpio.
They made their home on
the Danielson family
farm, where they raised
their five children. They
farmed small grains and
raised livestock. While
farming, Maryls also
worked construction at
the MAFB. He also did
some construction work
with Howard McGuire. He
had also helped build
several churches in the
area.
After his retirement, he
worked for the Sun Prairie
Grain Elevator in Carpio.
He was an avid sports
fan of his children and
grandchildren. He en-
joyed bowling. Maryls and
Glenny bowled for years
in a league and a couple’s
league. They made many
acquaintances. He also
enjoyed puzzles, hunting,
golfing and going for
walks.
Glenny passed away in
2011, and the following
year Maryls moved to
Minot.
He was a member of St.
John’s Lutheran Church
and later, Carpio Lutheran
Church, where he taught
Sunday school. He was
also a member of the Ea-
gles Aerie and the Moose
Lodge in Minot.
His loving family in-
cludes: children, Diane
Satterlund, West Fargo,
ND, Lorraine (Randy)
Miller, Minot, ND, Leon
Danielson, Surrey, ND,
Donna (Randy) Bryans,
Carpio, ND, and Danny
(Kari) Danielson, Minot,
ND; 15 grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren; 1
great-great-grandchild;
and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Maryls was preceded
in death by his parents;
wife, Glenny; grandson,
Matt Danielson; both sis-
ters and their spouses,
Verdella (Chuck) Rask,
and Eilleen (Bud) John-
son.
Memorial Service: Fri-
day, December 18, 2020,
at 1:00 p.m. at Carpio
Lutheran Church.
Interment: St. John’s
Lutheran Cemetery, Car-
pio, ND.
