Leah Sundsbak

Leah Sundsbak, 89,

Minot and formerly of Des

Lacs, died on Wednesday,

November 11, 2020 in a

Minot nursing home.

Leah Francis was born

on December 5, 1930 in

Makoti, ND to Kenneth

and Mary (O’Rourke)

Monson. She was raised

in Makoti and attended

Makoti School prior to

earning her G.E.D. in

1980.

Leah married Lane

Sundsbak on April 7,

1947 at Minot. They made

their home in or near Des

Lacs for the next sixty-six

years where Leah was a

fulltime wife, mother,

grandmother and home-

maker. Lane and Leah

moved to Edgewood Vista

– Minot in 2013. Lane

passed away on No-

vember 7, 2020.

Leah enjoyed doing

crossword and jigsaw

puzzles, word searches,

tending her flower gar-

dens, watching Jeopardy

and “Spin The Wheel”

(Wheel of Fortune) and

writing in her diary. She

and Lane took many bus

tours with friends. These

trips took them

throughout the United

States and Canada. They

also enjoyed volunteering

at the Norsk Hostfest.

Leah’s biggest passion was

her family. She loved any

event that brought family

together such as birthday

parties, holidays and Sun-

day morning coffee. Leah

enjoyed attending the ac-

tivities of her children,

grandchildren and great

grandchildren. Leah was a

member of Des Lacs Unit-

ed Methodist Church.

Leah’s loving family in-

Karen (Tony) Tudahl of

Des Lacs and Kelly

Sundsbak (Jim Norlin) of

Chad (Kristi), Sarah,

Tyler, Chris (Ashley),

Rylan (Abra), Devin and

John; great grandchildren:

Alexis (Hannes), Madison,

Cole, Brianna, Kayla,

Kennedy, London,

Sydney, Ryan, Jacie,

Benjamin, Fallon, Tate,

Hanna, Laney, Timber;

sister: Charlotte Fogel of

Breckenridge MN;

in-laws: Darrell (Delores)

Sundsbak of Minot, Bryan

(Kathy) Sundsbak of Ra-

pid City, and Roger

Sundsbak (Stephanie

Fitzgerald) of Velva; and

numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Leah was preceded in

death by her parents, hus-

band: Lane, son: Wade

Sundsbak, granddaughter:

Jennifer Tudahl, great

granddaughter: Haley

Sundsbak and siblings:

Dorothy Wallace and

Frank Monson.
