Gladys Marie Hiller, 91,

Granville, ND, passed

away Monday, November

9, 2020, at Trinity Hospi-

tal in Minot, surrounded

by her loving children.

Gladys Marie (Austad)

Hiller was born July 1,

1929 in Granville, ND,

daughter of Louis and

Annie (Cornish) Hanson.

She was raised in Gran-

ville and graduated from

Granville High School in

1947.

On July 31, 1947, she

was united in marriage to

Junior Hiller. They had

five children, Bonnie,

Donnie, Cindy, Penny and

Todd.

Gladys was a loving

wife and mother, taking

pride in keeping the

house spotless and en-

joyed cooking and baking

the family favorites which

include: lefsa, krumkake,

rosettes, fried bread and

eggs, meatballs and gravy

and big pancakes. In

1973, Gladys and Junior

purchased Hank’s Grocery

Store changing the name

to Hiller’s Food Market

which they owned and

operated for 13 years. In

1986, they sold the store

and finally retired. For 30

years they enjoyed the

winters in Arizona with

family and friends.

She was an active

member of First Lutheran

Church, Ladies Aid and

Senior Citizens of Gran-

ville.

She enjoyed bowling,

embroidering, crocheting,

making baby quilts, gar-

dening and ceramics. She

loved playing any kind of

cards, games and was an

avid reader.

Her loving family

includes: children,

Bonnie McNeely (Dale

Neuhalfen), Penny (Kent)

Krebsbach and Todd

(Vickie) Hiller, daughter-

in-law, Kathy Hiller; sister

in laws, Ardelle Hillerud

and Pat Hiller; 17

grandchildren, 23 great-

grandchildren, 5 great

great-grandchildren; along

with many nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Gladys was preceded in

death by her husband of

72 years, Junior; infant

daughter, Cindy; son,

Donnie; grandson, Chad;

great-granddaughter,

Alyxandria Mersinger;

great great-grandchildren,

Everly and Asher

Mosbrucker; parents, An-

nie and Louis Hanson;

biological father, Carl

Austad; brother, Clyde

(Lila) Austad; special

cousins, Mary, Edna and

Rose Rocheleau, Ida Fell-

er, Eva Carlson, and

Wayne Cowell; mother-

in-law and father-in-law,

Harry and Matilda Hiller;

sister-in-law, Alvina

(Klem) Brunner and Arlys

(Jeff) Pennington; broth-

ers-in-law, Homer (Doris)

Hiller, Johnny Hiller and

Stener “Short” Hillerud.

Due to the Coronavirus

Pandemic, A Private

Funeral Service by invita-

tion will be held Wednes-

day, November 18, 2020,

at 11:00 a.m. at First Luth-

eran Church, Granville.

The family encourages

those attending to wear

masks and social distance.

Interment: Granville

Community Cemetery,

Granville, ND.

Fellowship for Family

and Friends: Wednesday

at 1:00 pm at the Moose

Lodge in Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday

from 4 to 6 p.m. at

Thompson-Larson Fun-

eral Home, Minot.

Memorials: are pre-

ferred to First Lutheran

Church, Granville, ND.
