Betty Ostby

Betty Ostby, 82, Minot,

died Wednesday, October

14, 2020 in a Minot hospi-

tal.

Betty Jean was born on

March 3, 1938 in Minot to

Tony and Lillian (Robil-

lard) Kulesza. She was

raised and educated in

Sawyer. At the age of 14

Betty hopped a train to

California. She resided in

the Long Beach area and

worked on her studies to

become a licensed practi-

cal nurse. Betty remained

in California for the next

10 years.

Betty moved back to

Minot, where she lived

and worked. Betty was

once married to Jerry Os-

borne, from this union

daughter Nancy was born.

Betty was married, di-

vorced and remarried to

Roger Ostby and together

they adopted daughter

Rhegan in 1982. Betty

spent the next years of her

life being a mother and

homemaker for the fami-

ly.

Betty had a long dedica-tion and membership to

the Salvation Army

Church, which started

with her mother being a

housekeeper for the

church. Betty was an en-

rolled soldier for most of

her life and participated

in church activities as

often as she was able.

Betty had many in-

terests, she enjoyed mak-

ing jewelry and collecting

dolls. She also had a

talent for art which she

used to teach classes at

the 2nd Story Club and

through the Salvation

Army Church youth pro-

gram. Betty was also an

accomplished profession-al clown who brought

smiles to many faces

throughout her life.

Betty is survived by:

her husband, Roger,

Minot; daughters, Nancy

(Rick) McAllister, Norco,

CA and Rhegan (Joshua)

Stansbury, Marinette, WI;

grandchildren, Kimberly

(Matthew) Casarez, Norco,

CA and Isabella, Lillianah

and Josias Stansbury,

Marinette, WI;

great-grandchildren,

Matthew and Harley

Casarez, Norco, CA; along

with many in-laws,

nieces, nephews and even

a great-great nephew.

Betty was preceded in

death by: her parents and

brother, Wally Robillard.

A public visitation will

be held on Friday, Oc-

tober 30, 2020 from 9:00

– 10:00 a.m. in the Tho-

mas Family Funeral

Home. Masks are re-

quired.

Due to the current CO-

will be held.
