Ramona Schaan

Ramona Schaan, 78,

Minot and formerly of

Turtle Lake, ND went

peacefully to her heavenly

home, Friday, Sept. 4,

2020, in a Minot assisted

living facility, ending a

courageous battle with

cancer.

Ramona Gayle Schaan

was born on June 21,

1942, in Turtle Lake, ND

to Rudolph and Ida

(Korner) Heinle. She was

reared and educated in

Turtle Lake and graduated

from Turtle Lake High

School with the class of

1960.

Ramona married

Francis Schaan on Feb.

11, 1961, in Bellflower,

California. They made

their home in California

where Francis was em-

ployed at an airplane fac-

tory. They also resided in

Roseburg, OR and Co-

quille, OR before moving

to Minot in 1963. Ramona

was employed at Edison

School, Copper Pot Res-

taurant, Trinity Health

and Trinity Nursing

Home in Nutrition Ser-

vices before retiring in

2008, to care for her hus-

band. Francis died on July

25, 2018.

Ramona was a member

of Our Lady of Grace

Catholic Church, its Con-

fraternity of Christian

Mothers, and the Eagle’s

Auxillary. She was a fan

of Nodak, World of

Outlaws, and NASCAR

racing. In her younger

years, she enjoyed garden-ing, canning, baking, and

cooking. In her later years

she enjoyed collecting

snowmen, reading, Bingo,

casino trips and spending

time with her “Red Hat”

friends. Most of all, she

loved being Grandma, &

Great-Grandma, teaching

her grandchildren many

lessons in life.

Ramona’s loving family

includes: her daughters:

Brenda Weber (special

friend Steve Silseth) of

Minot and Bernadean

(Scott) Howell of Makoti,

ND; daughter-in-law: Cyn-

thia Schaan, Salina KS,

eight grandchildren:

Kalen, Alyssa (Nicholas)

Zaun, Kasey, Trina (Caleb

Karna), Trisha, Lori

(Blaine) Cappel, Tiffany,

Bradley Jr. (Olivia), 9

great-grandchildren; sis-

ters; Doris Repnow, Ana

(Buck) Bucholz . Brother;

James (Nanette) Heinle.

Sisters-in-law Shirley

Heinle, and Dixie Heinle.

Her special hairdresser,

niece Charlene Fjeldahl.

She is also survived by

several nieces, nephews,

and cousins.

Ramona was preceded

in death by: her parents;

husband; son, Bradley;

granddaughter Lindsey;

sisters: Ruth Scalf, Ruby

Weishaar and Orpha

Evans; brothers: Herbert,

Marvin, Dave, Richard,

and Jackie Heinle.

al: Friday, September 11,

2020 at 10:30 in Our Lady

of Grace Catholic Church,
