Elizabeth Rieder, 88,
Drake, passed away Fri-
day, September 25, 2020,
at the Trinity Hospital in
Minot. Her funeral will
be held Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at 10:30
AM at St. Margaret Mary
Catholic Church in Drake
with burial in the church
cemetery. Visitation will
be held Tuesday from 5
P.M. to 7 P.M. followed by
a 7 P.M. prayer service,
all at the church. Ar-
rangements are with Nel-
son Funeral Home of
Drake.
Elizabeth Ziegler, dau-
ghter of Joseph P. and
Lucy (Heintz) Ziegler, was
born August 8, 1932, in
the Blumenfeld area near
Orrin, ND, where she was
raised and attended a
nearby country school.
On October 9, 1952, El-
izabeth was united in
marriage to Henry Rieder
at the Blumenfeld Cathol-
ic Church. They made
their home in Drake,
where Elizabeth had lived
since. Henry passed away
November 4, 2010. In ad-
dition to raising her eight
children, Elizabeth work-
ed in housekeeping at the
St. Aloisius Medical
Center in Harvey for a
number of years and later
worked at the Drake
Creamery.
She was a faithful
member of St. Margaret
Mary Catholic Church in
Drake. She and Henry
were also former members
of the Harvey Eagles Club,
where they enjoyed danc-
ing, especially to Polka
music.
Elizabeth also enjoyed
raising flowers, collecting
knick-knacks and socializ-ing with friends. She
especially loved fussing
over her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren
and celebrating the
Christmas season.
Elizabeth also loved be-
ing able to remain in her
own home and was able
to do so with the help of
family and special friends,
Larry Clark and Ralph
Gange.
She is survived by her
children, Larry Rieder,
Terry (Paulette Martin)
Rieder and Duane Rieder
all of Drake, Daniel Rieder
of Minot, Patrick (Shan-
non) Rieder of Dilworth,
MN, Lori (Randy) Horst-
mann of Castle Rock, CO,
and Cathy Rieder of Har-
vey; 7 grandchildren; 2
great-grandchildren; 4
brothers, John Ziegler of
St. Cloud, MN, Tony (Di-
ane) Ziegler of Arizona,
Joey (Cindy) Ziegler of
Florida and Leroy Ziegler
of Nevada; and 2 sisters,
Bertha Schofield of Min-
neapolis, MN, and Jenny
Bachmeier of Bismarck.
Elizabeth was preceded
in death by her husband,
Henry; her son, Richard;
her parents; 2 brothers,
Richard and infant broth-
er, George; and 2 sisters,
Lena Bachmeier and
Agnes Klein.
