Elaine Johnson

Elaine Johnson, 65, of

Beulah, ND, passed away

on June 30, 2020, at Saka-

kawea Medical Center,

Hazen.

Services will be held at

a later date.

Elaine was born on Oc-

tober 11, 1954, in James-

town, ND, to Gerald and

Lillian (Wilks) Brugman.

She grew up and attended

school in Jamestown and

graduated from James-

town High School. She

furthered her education at

Valley City State Univer-

sity, getting her Bachelor’s

degree in Art.

Elaine moved to Beulah

in 1978 and taught art at

Beulah Public Schools un-

til retiring in 2010. She

married Brad Johnson in

1985 at Delta, UT and the

couple had two children,

Jenny and Tyler.

Elaine loved art. She

loved to paint and draw,

whether at home or on va-

cation. Elaine greatly en-

joyed traveling, going all

over the country with

Brad when he worked

construction. She enjoyed

meeting new people

everywhere they went.

Elaine also liked to go to

the casino and play slot

machines and going boat-

ing (not fishing!).

Elaine is survived by:

her husband of 35 years,

Brad of Beulah; her

daughter, Jenny Brugman

of Scotts Valley, CA; her

son, Tyler Johnson of

Mandan, ND; two broth-

ers, Bob (Beth) Brugman

of Houston, TX, and Don

(Amy) Brugman of Wichi-

ta, KS; one sister-in-law,

Carla (Jim) Robbins of St.

Paul, MN; many nieces

and nephews; and her

favorite little friends,

Kylie, Kaylee and Keegan.

She was preceded in

death by: her parents; her

parents-in-law; many

aunts and uncles; and one

cousin.

In lieu of flowers,

memorials are preferred

to Hazen Hospice.
