Debra Schaller, 62,
Minot, was carried by the
angels to her heavenly
home while in the loving
arms of her husband on
Sunday, July 5, 2020 in a
Minot nursing home.
Debra was born on Oc-
tober 9, 1957 in Tacoma,
WA to Clarence Edward
“Eddie” and Della
(Derheim) Neshem. She
spent her early years in
Tacoma, WA. In 1971, her
family relocated to a cattle
ranch near the communi-
ty of Hillside, AZ. Debra
attended school in
Prescott during their time
in Arizona. They moved
to Minot in 1974. Debra
graduated from Minot
High School in 1976.
Debra was united in
marriage to her one true
love Carl Schaller on
March 24, 2007 in Minot,
ND at the Church of God
of Prophecy in Minot.
They enjoyed thirteen
years of companionship
and commitment to each
other.
Debra was in service to
people throughout her
life. She was a waitress,
childcare provider, and
retail associate. She
worked twenty-three
years at Taco John’s
where she loved getting to
know the regulars. Debra
was a recipient of the
Minot Chamber of Com-
merce Eagle Award in the
area of customer service
on three separate occa-
sions for her dedication
and service to her custo-
mers. Many of her
customer’s came to visit
her during her time at
Trinity Homes.
Debra’s hobbies includ-ed crocheting,
jewelry-making, and rais-
ing birds. She was a
self-taught guitar player
and song writer. She
shared her talent as an ac-
tive member of Living
Waters Family Worship
Center, where she was
part of the worship team.
She also played guitar and
sang for the residents of
Maple View Memory Care
several times a month
during her active years.
Debra also was a talented
photographer who cap-
tured memories of gradua-
tions and wedding
ceremonies for family and
friends.
Debra was a true wom-
an of faith who touched
all who were blessed to
share in her life.
Debra is survived by:
her husband, Carl, Minot;
son, Nathan (Johnalyn)
Neshem, Cathedral City,
CA; father and mother,
Eddie and Della Neshem,
Minot, ND; sister, Brenda
(John) Lucas, Bradenton,
FL and Brother, Brian
(Annette Hensrud)
Neshem, Surrey, ND;
numerous nieces,
nephews and her best
friend, Phyllis (Gary)
Morvent-Ungerer.
She was preceded in
death by: her
grandparents, Ed and
Ruth Derheim and Bud
Neshem and Ruth Luond.
Funeral Service: Due to
COVID-19 concerns, a
private family service by
invitation will be held in
the Church of God of Pro-
phecy, Minot, ND.
Public Graveside Ser-
vice: 3:15 p.m. Friday,
July 10, 2020 at Sunset
Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Public Visitation:
Thursday, July 9, 2020
from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00
p.m. at the Thomas Fami-
ly Funeral Home, Minot.
