David Lund

David Lund, 77, Reno,

NV, formerly of Minot,

died Sunday, June 21,

2020 in a Reno assisted

living center.

David was born on Au-

gust 25, 1942 in Ogden,

Utah, the son of Albert

and Bessie (Holmes)

Lund.

The family moved to

Scottsdale, AZ when Da-

vid was six. He attended

and graduated from

Scottsdale High School.

David attended Minot

State University for a cou-

ple of years and complet-

ed his education at the

NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND

with an Associate’s De-

gree in Industrial Arts.

David married Ruth

Boomer in October 1964

at Zion Lutheran Church,

Minot. They moved to

Phoenix, AZ in 1965. He

was partners with his fa-

ther in Lund Brothers

Plumbing. David and

Ruth moved back to

Minot in 1975 and be-

came employed with

Cooks Plumbing & Heat-

ing, where he completed

his journeyman training

with the company.

David opened his own

business, Magic City

Plumbing, which he

owned and operated from

1978-1996. He sold the

business and went to

work for Minot Public

Schools as a plumber

from 1997-2004. He re-

tired and played a lot of

golf. Ruth passed away in

July 10, 1992.

David moved back to

Phoenix around 2008. He

spent the last five years of

his life near his family in

the city of Reno in the

care of assisted living. He

enjoyed fishing in his

younger years, played golf

his entire active life and

also found satisfaction in

the carving of figurines

out of wood.

David is survived by:

sister, Carol (Gordie)

Ablitt, Santa Barbara, CA;

daughter, Stephanie (Al-

lan) Bohl, Reno, NV; son,

Christopher (Loree) Lund,

Westcliffe, CO; nephews,

Rich (Jan) Lund, Phoenix,

AZ and Steve (Diane)

Lund, Glendale, AZ and a

niece, Mary (Mike) Mon-

day, Phoenix, AZ.

David was preceded in

death by his wife, Ruth

Boomer Lund; father, Al-

bert Lund; mother, Bessie

Holmes; brothers, Albert

and Eldon Lund and a

nephew, Michael Lund.

Family Funeral Home,

Minot, ND. At his request

there will not be a view-

ing.

Celebration of David’s

Life: Tuesday, July 7,

2020 from 6:30 – 9:00

p.m. at Oak Park Shelter

11, Minot, ND. A light

dinner will be served for

those who attend.

Memorial Park, Minot.
