Minot, ND, passed away

Monday, June 1, 2020, in

a Minot hospital.

Walter Alan Norgard

was born June 27, 1930,

the son of Clarence and

Nora Norgard, in Hart-

land, ND. He was raised

and educated in Hartland.

Walter enlisted in the

United States Air Force

on November 29, 1950.

He proudly served his

country during the Korean

War. He was honorably

discharged November 16,

1953.

Walter married Delores

Evenson on August 1,

1954 at Zion Lutheran

Church in Minot, ND.

They made their home in

Minot and from this un-

ion, 4 children were born:

Debra, Ranae, Wanda and

Wayne.

Over the years Walter

farmed on the family

farm. He also worked as a

TV repairman and school

bus driver. He and

Delores enjoyed spending

15 winters together in Ar-

izona. He also enjoyed

bowling, softball and fish-

ing.

Surviving family in-

cludes: Beloved wife,

Delores Norgard; son,

Wayne Norgard;

daughters, Deb (Leon)

Schumacher, Ranae (Lau-

ry) Hennix and Wanda

Norgard (Steve Janibagi-

an); grandchildren, Moni-

ca (Mike) Pitts, Travis

(Megan) Schumacher,

Kyle (Alex) Hennix, Bryce

Hennix, Shonna (Marc)

Garcia, Mitch Soeby and

Kaylin Soeby;

great-grandchildren, Ellis

Pitts, Aveleen Pitts, Parker

Schumacher, Tate

Schumacher, Maklyn

Hennix and Joslyn Garcia;

sister, Sharon Haugen;

brother-in-law, Gene

Evenson; sisters-in-law,

Phyllis Norgard, Sandy

Norgard, Dawn Evenson

and Arlene Maner; and

numerous nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Walter was preceded in

death by his

grandparents, Otto and

Rosie Norgard; parents,

Clarence and Nora Nor-

gard; brothers, Richard

Norgard, Dale Norgard,

Gerald Norgard and

Dennis Norgard; and sis-

ter, Shirley Beebe.

Public Graveside Ser-

vice: Friday, June 5, 2020,

at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset
