Diane Caley

Diane Caley, 84, Minot,

died Friday, May 22, 2020

in an Assisted Living

Center near her son’s

home in Littleton, CO due

to complications of

dementia.

Diane was born on Sep-

tember 7, 1935 in Minot,

ND to Cyrus and Annette

(Lee) Ronnie. She grew up

in Minot and graduated

from Minot High in 1953.

She earned her Bachelor’s

Degree in Elementary

Education and Library

Science from Minot State

University.

Diane was united in

marriage to C. Dean Caley

on November 25, 1955 at

Bethany Lutheran Church

in Minot. They were mar-

ried 50 years before he

preceded her in death in

2006. He was always very

close to her heart. They

made their home in

Minot.

Diane found her niche

in the working world as a

high school student in the

Minot Public Library

where she worked for 15

years before becoming

Director of the Ward

County Library for 30

years. Through the years

she was a member of mul-

tiple state and national li-

brary associations serving

in multiple roles; coordi-

nator, president and state

delegate to the White

House. Diane retired in

1997.

Diane spent summers

with her husband at their

lake home on Lake Audu-

bon. She will be remem-

bered by all for her affini-

ty to play cards. She loved

to play bridge with her

many friends (4 of which

started school together in

1941). She took great

pride in the way she

dressed, with matching

accessories. She was a

very people orientated

person who thrived on so-

cial gatherings. In addi-

tion, she was well known

to be an outstanding cook.

She valued time spent

with family and friends,

especially her grandchil-

dren, who she adored.

She will be missed deeply

by all who shared in her

life.

Diane was a member of

Bethany Lutheran

Church, Minot.

Diane is survived by:

her son, Christopher (Ju-

lia) Caley, Littleton, CO;

grandchildren Cassandra

Lee and Remington Dean

Caley; siblings Richard

(Margaret) Ronnie, Minot,

ND and Larry Ronnie,

Minot, ND.

Funeral Service: Due

day, June 4, 2020 at 10:00

a.m. in the Thomas Fami-

ly Funeral Home, Minot.

Public Graveside ser-

vice: Thursday at 11:00

a.m in Section 28 of

Rosehill Memorial Park,

Minot.
