las, passed away on

Thursday, May 28, 2020

surrounded by her loving

family in a Turtle Lake

Assisted Living Center.

Alvina was born June 5,

1917 on the family farm

south of Minot, the

daughter of Ole and Mina

(Kleven) Fjeld. She was

raised on the farm in the

South Prairie area and

educated at country

schools in that area. She

assisted with the opera-

tion of the family farm in

Freedom Township.

Alvina was united in

marriage to Sven Berg on

July 10, 1937 at Bethany

Lutheran Church in

Minot. They made their

home on a farm in Hilton

Township of Ward Coun-

ty, North Dakota, where

along with being blessed

with two children, they

raised small grains and

cattle and operated a

dairy farm. Sven died in

1975. Alvina continued to

live on the farm until she

turned 100 years young.

After that time, she lived

with her daughter, Judy,

until recently entering a

Turtle Lake Assisted Liv-

ing Center.

Alvina was a former

member of Spring Lake

Lutheran Church, rural

Douglas and was a

member of Saron Luth-

eran Church, rural Minot.

She enjoyed baking, gar-

dening, reading and trav-

eling.

Her loving family in-

cludes: children, Paul

(Betty) Berg, Douglas, ND;

Judy (Larry) Rice, Turtle

Lake, ND; 6 grandchildren

to include: Brian Berg,

Darla (Dave) Iverson,

Duane Berg, Bryce (Wen-

dy) Berg, Randy (Rachel)

Rice, Robyn (Ryan)

Goven; 13

great-grandchildren to in-

clude: Wyatt Strilcov, Jus-

tin Berg, Madilyn Berg,

Katelyn Berg, Carly (Je-

rod) Fleming, LaShae

Berg, Makayla Berg,

Ginger Goven, Monica

Goven, Sadie Goven, Reg-

gie Rice, Ray Rice &

Richard Rice; one

great-great-grandchild,

Jace Fleming.

Alvina was preceded in

death by: her parents,

husband of 38 years,

Sven; brothers, Carl, Mar-

tin, Alvin, Olaf, John and

Elmer Fjeld.

Celebration of Life ser-

vice: Due to the COVID

restrictions, there will be

a Private Family service

on Tuesday, June 2, 2020

at 11:00 a.m. in Saron

Lutheran Church, rural

Minot. Those wishing to
