William Field

Sept,. 12, 1950-Jan. 19, 2020

William “Bill” Field, 69,

passed away from

Alzheimer’s Disease on

January 19, 2020.

He was born in Warren,

MN on September 12,

1950 to John Byron and

Betty (Murray) Field. He

graduated from Stephen

High School in 1968 and

then attended Moorhead

State University in Moor-

head, MN.

He was united in mar-

riage to Donna LaBine of

Argyle, MN on September

2, 1972 and they raised

four children together.

Bill enjoyed a rewarding

career as a teacher and

farmer. He proudly

taught at Stephen High

School and then

Stephen-Argyle Central

for 35 years.

He treated his students

and former students like

family. He was fortunate

to be able to farm with his

dad, learning the value of

an honest day’s work. He

passed on those same

values to his sons, while

continuing to build a suc-

cessful family business.

Bill was also very active

in the community, serving

in leadership positions in

many organizations. They

include the Stephen Lions

Club, Minnesota Deer

Hunters Association, Min-

nesota and National Edu-

cation Association’s and

Tamarac Township Board

of Directors.

Bill was a man of strong

faith and a devout

member of St. Stephen’s

parish of Stephen, serving

on the Church Council for

many years. He was an

avid outdoorsman, a

hunter and a farmer. He

cherished his trips to the

deer hunting cabin, which

was his pride and joy.

One of his favorite sayings

was, “It’s daylight in the

swamp,” which refer-

enced the peace and

serenity that came at sun-

rise as he overlooked the

hunting property from his

deer stand.

Bill’s greatest accom-

plishment and joy in life

was his family. Watching

his children and

grandchildren grow

brought him immeasur-

able happiness. His chil-

dren and grandkids

adored their “Pop” for his

patience, humor, and

quiet strength. We are all

better to have been loved

by him.

Bill is survived by: his

wife of 47 years, Donna;

two sons, Scott (Maxi

Adams) of Grand Forks,

ND; John (Shanna) of

Grand Forks, ND; and two

daughters, Kristie Marvin

(Dan) of Eden Prairie, MN;

Katie Yacoub (James) of

Eden Prairie, MN; two sis-

ters, Sandra Rasmussen

(Mark) of Moorhead, MN;

Myrna Olsen (Howard) of

Fort Worth, TX; and 10

grandchildren, Jake Mar-

vin, Bo Marvin, Matthew

Marvin, Luke Marvin, Isa-

bella Yacoub, Madeline

Yacoub, Jack Yacoub,
