Elaine C. Swegheimer,

75, Minot, formerly of

Lennox, SD, passed away

on Sunday, January 26,

2020 in a Minot hospital.

Elaine Carol Sweghei-

mer was born on July 11,

1944 in Sioux Falls, SD a

daughter of Clayton K.

and Dorothy M. (Friese)

Dahlgard. She was raised

and educated in Lennox.

ND, attending Pleasant

View Rural School #31

where she was active in

4-H. Graduating from Len-

nox High School in 1962.

Elaine furthered her edu-

cation, by attending South

Dakota State University,

Brookings, SD earning a

Bachelor’s of Science de-

gree in nursing.

On April 13, 1967, she

was united in marriage to

Leland M. Swegheimer in

Killeen, TX at Fort Hood.

The couple was blessed

with two children, Willi-

am and Donna. They

made their home in El

Paso, TX, where Elaine

worked as a school nurse

in the El Paso school sys-

tem for 30 years. Elaine

and Lee loved to travel to-

gether.

Elaine was an avid

quilter. She also enjoyed

knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by:

Children, William (Tere-

sa) and Donna (Philip)

Weber, both of Minot;

grandchildren, Lakelin

Swegheimer and Taylor

Weber; brother, Gerald

(Connie) Dahlgard, Len-

nox, SD; sister, Linda Par-

kratz, Marion, SD;

nephews, David (Ann)

Parkratz and Marc (Jen-

nifer) Parkratz.

Elaine was preceded in

death by her husband,

Leland; her parents, a sis-

ter, Barbara Dahlgard; and

niece, Kelli Jackson.
