Rev. Adine Harsch, 80,
of Velva, died December
11, 2019 at Trinity Hospi-
tal in Minot.
Funeral services will
begin at 10:00 AM, De-
cember 17, 2019 at Oak
Valley Lutheran Church,
Velva. Burial will be in
the City Cemetery, Velva.
Visitation will be at 9:00
AM on December 17, 2019
at Oak Valley Lutheran
Church.
Adine Harsch was born
on March 15, 1939 on the
farm by Dr. McFarland in
Carbon, Alberta, Canada
to Christian and Rosie
(Diede) Harsch. Adine
had four brothers and
grew up on a farm in Car-
bon, Alberta. Adine ac-
cepted the Lord as his
personal Savior in the Fall
of 1950, and was baptized
at First Baptist Church in
Carbon, Alberta. Adine
graduated from Carbon
High School, in Carbon,
Alberta.
Adine attended the
Christian Training Insti-
tute (CTI) in Edmonton,
Alberta Canada where he
met and married V. Agnes
Rentz in 1959. They made
their home in Carbon,
Alberta where they were
blessed with three sons.
Adine worked as the
Parts Manager at Garrett
Motors in Carbon. In
1964, Adine received
God’s call to enter
full-time ministry. Adine
moved to Sioux Falls, SD
to complete his Undergra-duate degree at Sioux
Falls College while work-
ing at Brown Drug Whole-
sale. Adine then began his
seminary education at
North American Baptist
Seminary in Sioux Falls.
While at Seminary Adine
ministered at the United
Church of Christ in Larch-
wood, IA.
Upon graduating from
Seminary with a Masters
in Ministry degree, Adine
ministered in several
churches which include:
Plum Creek Baptist in Em-
ery, SD; Crestview Baptist
in Minot, ND: Martin Bap-
tist Church, Martin, ND;
Drake United Methodist
Church, Drake, ND; and
Velva United Methodist
Church, Velva, ND. After
concluding his full-time
ministry Adine worked at
Archer Daniels Midland
(ADM) in Velva as a grain
grader until his retire-
ment.
Adine loved the Lord
and enjoyed sharing the
hope he had in Jesus as
his Lord and Savior with
those whom he visited.
In 1998, Adine married
Lillian DeKrey and they
made their home in Velva.
In retirement, Adine often
preached the gospel
through word and song,
filling in at local churches
and retirement homes.
Adine will be missed by
all those whose lives he
touched. Grateful for hav-
ing shared his life are his
sons Dennis (Kym)
Harsch, West Fargo, Clay-
ton (Nancy) Harsch, West
Fargo and Kendall (Lau-
rie) Harsch, Sioux Falls,
SD; eight grandchildren
and seven
great-grandchildren.
Adine was preceded in
death by his parents, wife
Lillian and one brother.

to Crystal Springs Baptist
Camp, 4848 36th St SE,
Medina, ND 58467 or the
Souris Valley Volunteers.
